This is a riddle.
This dad and his son are in a car accident
The dad dies
The son is rushed to the emergency room
They lay him on the operating table
And the surgeon says "I can't work on him...he's my son"

The surgeon is the kid's real dad. The man killed in the accident is a dad but not necessarily the kid's dad.

the child's mother. i've heard this riddle before. the riddle is "asking" us not to be sterotypical. surgeons do not necessarily have to be guys. they can also be women.
