"Retiring" would let him save a little "face", keep the blemish off of the Republican party of yet another scandal, and make way for someone else in the job...
I have NOTHING against anyone being gay (my nephew, whom I love most in this world is gay)..but I DO have a problem with people who are denying it, putting it down, and trying to deceive the public (lying)...
Admit who you are...people will be much more tolerant and forgiving of someone who is TRUTHFUL to himself and the world...
Whether this guy did this or not, it was the "way" he said he wasn't gay that bothers me....

He is innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Even though he plead guilty it was without council. He cannot be denied that and I really don't know if he was .

That answer is one fairness.

My answer is He should do one if not all of your suggested list.
The only thing in his favor is, he didn't go after a child.

If I were him, I'd start hiding my assets legally. This is not going to go away and chances are his wife/family will be very bitter. I'd also try to retain a good Divorce Attorney on the sly [like that would be possible...] The fallout has just begun. He is shell shocked and in his attempt to cover up and dig out, he's going deeper. Very sad I think.

It seems that he will play it opposite of Clinton. Clinton denied it until caught. Craig was caught and now he will deny it.

I heard the break down of what he did. (the police report) I may not like what it looks like but I can't see that he broke any laws. Our justice system is supposed to be weighted in favor of the defendent (unless they are a republican). Craig looked through the crack of a toliet stall. Not illegal, but tasteless. He tapped his foot! My god! He tapped his foot! His foot touched the foot of the officer after the officer moved his foot closer to Craig's foot. Oooh, that sounds like entrapment. Craig ran his hand across the bottom of the stall wall three times. This is violation of common sense and good hygiene practices but not illegal.
That is the gist of it. I see nothing illegal about these actions but it looks very tacky. The only way to find any criminal actions is for the officer to make certain assumptions. Our legal system (for all of its problems) does not allow most assumptions to be used as the basis for a criminal act. Let's go hetero; you pull up to a stop light downtown one night. A very buxom young woman walks over to your car and leans in the window. She smiles and asks what you are doing tonight. You reply that you are out looking for fun. She asks if you have plenty of money for fun. You give her a smile and say yes. She tells you to pull over into the parking lot across the street because she would like to join you and she has to tell her friends. You pull into the parking lot and find yourself under arrest. Where is the crime? Lots of assumptions, but no crime.
I think what Craig did is kind of creepy but not illegal.

What he should do is resign. What he will do is deny. And what we'd all like him to do is out all the other R-Senators LOL
