the other people in there also have money so there is less likely to be a leak. or maybe they figure at $2000 things will be a little more luxurious.

I think there's a couple of reasons, and remember most of those we see going to these Rehab centers can certainly afford it, so $2000 per day or whatever it is, amounts to pocket change.

One reason when a celeb has done a bad thing like, getting arrested on a DUI, they want to get out of the public eye, away from the gossip reporters and Papparrazi, and the privacy of a Rehab center will give them that for the 30 or 60 days they'll will be there (while they sneak out at night, ala Lindsay Lohan, to go out around town)

Secondly, let's remember they are now in trouble with the law.
They will at some point be appearing before a Judge and checking into a Rehab is the beginning of their "resume", where their Lawyer will be sure the Judge sees that they "voluntarily" admitted themselves into a treatment center, giving them a "jump start" on getting the drug or alcohol treatment a Judge would certainly be considering giving them as a condition in lieu of jail time.
So, basically, they get into Rehab in the hopes of getting a lesser sentence when it comes time...this is the game we see these celebs like Britney and Lindsay playing all the time.
