She was not known for her mental stability.

It shouldn't be legal to leave things like $12 mil to pets...give to a charity if you hate your family for God's sake. But I guess that was her final insult.

i wouldn't go so far as to call it disgusting, bizarre at most. she busted her hump for all that money, i think she earned the right to do w/ it as she sees fit. i'm sure she had her for reasons for distributing her legacy in the manner in which she did. why should the family just expect it to all go to them? what did they do to contribute to her success? i'm sure they've never wanted for anything. 5 million can insure the future of a few generations if properly utilized. why should the family expect a free ride? helmsley didn't get one. plus she's given millions upon millions to charity, very noble in my opinion. i don't get what it is about people thinking they have some sort of entitlement when a loved one passes. go out and make your own fortune in the world.

2 of her grandkids aren't getting anything.

I dont think it's too out of the ordinary for this snobby lady. She did get in trouble for tax evasion back in the day and when she was asked why she didn't pay her taxes, she said "Only poor people should pay taxes." She was, at one time, refered to as 'the meanist lady to ever walk'...

Still...12 million to a dog? thats a LOT of treats...

She has her own reasons and it is her money to do what she wants to do with. I think she has a good reason for doing it because when people have that much money the ones who are suppose to inherit it is the only reason that they are still with her. Any ways, isn't 5 million enough? I think so. The dog is way nicer then her grand children anyway.

well it is hard to say-----she was the queen of mean but lots of times these types of people are very lonely and wants the love of family and don't get it so they just get meaner-----maybe she didn't even know these grandchildren---i don't have the millions she has but i have an estranged grandchild and i struggle with my will on a monthly basis---yes the grandchildren should have gotten something but it is her money---and she is the one had to pay taxes on it ?????

I don't know the backstory here but that is just stupid to leave it to a dog. If you've got a good reason not to leave it to family, give it to a charity or something. What's a dog going to do with money?

i think her brother should make a will for the dog, leaving everything to him and the 4 grandkids and get the dog to sign with a paw print. Then in about a year who knows, the dog drinks some antifreeze

I think that was pretty stupid to give her dog 12 mill. I wonder why she is giving half of her grandchildren money..........never heard of this person until today.

I thought it was funny as hell!...its her money and she can do with it as she pleases. Most family think just because they are blood they deserve the money. BS....I applaud her decision regardless of what society thinks.
