Hi,
WHat is a subject and verb in an interrtogative sentence
For eg. Who took the book?

What is the subject?
Verb - I assume "took"

the subject is the person doing the verb- 'who' in this case.
the object is the thing that the verb is being/has been done to- 'the book' in this case.

unless it is an intransitive verb like 'die' (something which cannot be done to something- die, cry, scream) where the subject and the object are the same:

'it died'. there is no object (they are the object)

The verb is "took"

Book is a direct object

The subject is book
and you are right the verb is took, is the past tense fro th e verb "take". You are learning !!
