One day at a time...

Habits don't form instantly, so they won't break instantly either. Learn to do the task that needs to be done NOW, instead of lolligagging around and letting it become worse.

Let me give you an example: I hated washing dishes. And I kept putting it off until there was a truly humongous pile of them and I couldn't ignore it any more. After climbing Mount Dishmore a few times, I finally learned that it was actually a whole lot easier to wash the dishes as they were dirtied. And it even took a whole lot less time because I wasn't fighting hard-dried food. Now I scarcely think of it.

If it will help you, make a list of the tasks you have to do. Check them off as you get them done. Then once everything is checked off, give yourself a treat: Get a call in pizza or an ice cream sundae, watch a movie, or do something else that you enjoy.

Keep working on doing things that need to be done. The first 3 weeks are the worst. After that, it should taper off.

Good luck!
