Over time, both sides will copy winning strategies the other side used successfully. This does not mean that they are the same. The core issues remain.
Hopefully, at some point, both sides will come to realize that both have identified the same problem, the difference is in how to solve it. Most likely, neither side has exactly the right answer. They should learn to put their collective ideas together to come up with real, workable solutions to problems.

The world is round. there is no left or right, it is continuous. The earth is divided into hemispheres for directional purposes but unless you're looking at a still picture, the is no left or right, only continuous motion.
