People have taken up swords and wooden shoes, in the fight for freedom

saboes thrown into the machines of the oppressors.

Or single men have stood in front of a line of tanks holding nothing more than a plastic bag.

Paint half your face blue using woad, then pull up the kilt giving them a good long look, while yelling "you'll never tak our freedom"

isn't that an oxymoron? how can one give up thier rights and have freedom at the same time?

in the united states freedom IS a right. if you give up that right you are no longer free. people can argue that we really aren't free and blah blah blah, but in comparison to the way things COULD be, we still have the right to vote, the freedom to protest things we don't agree with, and the freedom to speak our minds. i dont think freedom is a priveledge unless you break the law, get locked up, then let out. then freedom becomes a priveledge. but its a right to begin with unless you screw it up by your own free will.

sorry about the rant.
