I live In North Carolina and I have been seperated from my husband since May but we havent filled out any papers or anything yet. I really want to get the ball rolling and get things going because were obviously not going to reconcile. What do I do, is it going to cost money and what should I expect?

Well, if you are SURE you're not going to reconcile, then you need to just go ahead and file for divorce. This will be faster and cheaper than doing a formal seperation. Go to the courthouse and ask the clerk for the appropriate forms, a lot of times they have someone to answer questions, if you feel it is too much paperwork for you to do alone, go to a lawyer to do this, or if that is too expensive go to a paralegal service like We The People (I don't know if they exist where you live) Sorry things did not work out. Good Luck

You should consult a lawyer. It will be much easier if you have a lawyer handle all the paperwork. You can look around. Some will not charge you for an initial consultation, and if you file for no fault divorce, you may get by with around $200-$300.

If you have no children it will be easier because you won't be concerned with child support/custody issues. Get on the phone and call a few lawyers. Good luck!

No, a separation is free. Unless you want a lawyer to draw up something. here is a site for you:

You go to the court house, fill out the papers, write a check and you're done!
