And he was arrested for soliciting. Not for having a sexual orientation.

No Youask, we don't say that. We say people's PRIVATE sex lives are their own business in reference to what people do in THE PRIVACY OF THEIR OWN HOMES. Public solicitation doesn't count...for any sexual orientation.

No..no, my friend.

It doesn't matter WHAT his sexual preferences are...the guy was just plain stupid.

With all he had going for him in his life, suddenly he gets this inspiration that its some kind of "good idea" to troll in a public bathroom?

He's bi?

Ya, whatever.

He's a stupid bi, ok?

I don't care what a persons sexual orientation is. It is still wrong to solicit sex in a public place. He wouldn't be in this situation had he come clean in the first place. And Twist, he is guilty. He pleaded guilty to the charge. Why plead guilty if you are innocent? All the facts are in, he was peering through the crack of the stall for 2 minutes. He acknowledged that he engaged in physical activity that he knew may be misinterpreted. Why do such a thing if you know there may be some serious consequences? He was looking for sex from another man, deal with it. He is gay, which is fine, but to try and hide it and vilify others for being so is hypocritical. Sorry, he is just another republican hiding from the truth. He says he pleaded guilty in hopes of this going away quickly. If he wants it to go away quickly then he should resign from office and disappear.

The issue isn't about Craig's sexual persuasion. The issue is that he was caught violating the law in a public toilet, even though he publicly professes to be some high-and-mighty do-gooder that abhors such deviancy and perversion. Craig is a hypocrite.
Members of Congress should - and MUST - be expected to be held to a higher standard. They are, supposedly, the moral, ethical leaders of our country. We should expect them to live exemplary lives. Unfortunately, most members of Congress are either wife beaters; alcoholics; pedophiles; cross dressers; prescription-pill poppers; psychopathic liars; drug abusers; psychotics; womanizers; homosexuals; bisexuals; adulterers - or any combination of the above. -RKO- 08/29/07

Sounds like a huge rationalization.

At the very least, someone who champions anti gay rights measures while attempting to pick up guys in an airport is a hypocrite. He also has incredibly bad judgment, something that is undesirable in a US senator.

It doesn't matter to me. What is important is that a US Senator has committed a moral turpitude type of crime, and he now may be a felon, if the charges on the police report were not reduced to a misdemeanor.

What makes matters worse is that he is now trying to withdraw his plea, after getting a small slap on the wrist.

He has shown himself to be a man without honor; a disgrace to his constituents; another black mark to his party and an embarrassment to his family.

Right right right. Yeah that might work for some one else, but not a conservative anti-gay politician. He got caught. Now the excuses are pouring in. He's a liar and a hypocrite!

All that's fine. He's getting so much grief because he is a hypocrite - saying loudly you are anti-gay and coming on to another guy in the john is pretty odd behavior. No problem if he is gay, he just ought to stop ragging on gay folks.

What has that "label" got to do with anything? If he is flirting with strange men in bathrooms, he shows a TREMENDOUS lack of good judgment. Not to mention, if it turns out he is actually having sex with some of his encounters, consider the risk he is putting his family in if he "brings" anything home from one of these encounters.

How do you know he's bisexual? Just because he married a woman? It's a Sham Marriage. Like when Rock Hudson married. Or Elton John.

What makes you say he's bisexual? The fact that he has a wife? He married her; that doesn't mean he's attracted to her.

For the person below me: Yes, unless those people are public officials who do everything they can to restrict the rights of gays... which Craig does.
