There are more millionaires from real estate than any other industry.
If you want to do the stock market, the best "return" is in futures and options. However, wherever there is an extremely high rate of return, there is a corresponding risk.
I turned 4,000$ into 60,000 in about four months. I then took the 60 and bought more options. These crashed and burned and I lost about 45,000. However, I had to pay taxes on the 60K I had earned.
Just remember: Great returns always means high risk.

Because this has multiple cash flows, you will have to do an IRR to figure it out, or use the Newton Method.
This was in my role as a fiduciary however.

I bought a bunch of options in Storage Technology Corporation back in 1980. Overnight there was a rumor that the company was going to be bought out. I sold the next morning for a profit of 16.5% per day (or about 6000% annualized). The rumor was denied that afternoon by the company and the stock collapsed.
The stock market has been good to me, but, I've never been able to repeat this one, though.

Sunshine Empire Holdings -- Consumer Rewards Priviledge and Consumer Loyalty Priviledge. Provides up to 1000% returns. Already got back what I placed in and am receiving profits from this month onwards.
Monthly dividends (10% of what you place into the programme) ensure you that you receive your original input within a year.

Real Estate, I know that's kind of obvious but I live near Washington D.C. and my house has appreciated almost $70,000 in three years. You can't beat that return.
