We had alot of financial emergencies going on at the same time, so he took our set to get him and I some much needed extra cash a few months ago. Well, he is out of town right now, and I called and found out that we were on the brink of loosing our rings. He won't be back until the first week of September, but we would have lost them as of Aug. 23, so WITH HIS CONSENT, I wrote a letter, forged his name, and took it to the pawn shop and paid our rings off. They wrote down my DL # and other info in red pen though. It kind of scared me.
My hubby and I are working our marriage out cause we had alot of issues in the past. Is it possible for him (if he got mad at me down the line) to use what I did to try to get me convicted of Identity Theft?!?! Would they believe me if I told them he said that I can and should do it to get our rings from being sold? I'm kind of scared. I refuse to kiss his butt, but he has mentioned it in a joking (but maybe NOT joking way) that he COULD tell. HELP!!!

I seriously doubt that you would be in trouble but since he brought it up (kidding or not) make him sign a note saying he gave you permisson and then put it in a safe place just in case.

Remove yourself from the denial of the real problems in your life, then you can begin to start working on them.

Try being honest with yourself.

Yes it will be a long and difficult journey to solve your personal problems. But once you triage your problems, and take care of all that you can, a sense of hope will guide you all the way through your journey.

And remember, courage does not always have to soar at great heights to be courage.

Poor thing..I think what you did was fine. It's not like you got out his mother's ring or something like that. If your husband was to ever turn this around on you, just say that he TOOK your wedding ring without your permission and pawned it.

You mention that to your husband when he talks about it again. Besides, he sounds kind of mean about this. Why isnt he happy that wanted your rings back???

The judge would throw the case out, laughing.

I highly doubt it. My wife signs my name, I sign hers... I think most couples do this and any judge would realize that.
