If you want to see Manatees in the wild, you can do so in Florida. Whether you are at Tomoka Joe State Park in Daytona or down in the Florida Bay (SW of Miami), you have a chance of seeing one. You can rent a canoe or kayak to make the trip. However, as they have become more and more scarce, the chances of you seeing one are slim. You can also try the west coast of Florida in Sanibel, Marco Island or even Cape Coral area.

For the record, they are not terribly exciting to see in the wild. You will see them breach, and thats about it. You will see their nose, their back and their bubbles. Its not like you see on TV. But as one of nature's wonders, it is a nice experience.

The best place that i have been to to see Mantas (as in Rays) is in Discovery Cove in Orlando, you actually snorkel in a pool that has very large rays in but they are about 20 foot below you but they are huge it is a fantastic experience just watching them. As someone else said at Seaworld there is a pool where you can feed them (you pay a few $ for the food) and touch them, they feel quite similar to Dolphins, all in all if you are into aquatic life then you should take a trip to Seaworld and Discovery, hope that helps...

Scuba diving with manta rays? Ticao Island, Bicol, in the Philippines. The dive site is called "Manta Bowl". 'Nuff said.
