IQ tests are, by definition, designed to determine if an individual is smarter or wiser (able to use knowledge effectively) for a given age compared to that individual's peers. Gardner's Theory of Multiple Intelligences warns us that we each may be wise or gifted in a variety of "intelligent" ways, including Bodily-Kinesthetic, Interpersonal, Naturalistic, Intrapersonal, Spatial, Musical, and others -- as well as the two narrow areas traditionally used to measure the gifted application of knowledge found in IQ tests of Linguistic and Logical-Mathematical skills.
