D = 4 x 1.25 miles
D = 5 miles

Question B)
t = 10 / 4 hours
t = 2 h 30 mins.
t = 150 mins.

= 75/60 hr * 4 mph
= 5 miles

Answer: 5 miles

B.)
= 10 miles / 4 mph
= 2.5 hours

Answer: 2 1/2 hours

I doubt 3 people could continuously paddle exactly 4 mph for 75 minutes that is just impossible. This question is not practical.

150 minutes for 10 miles

75 min = 1.25 hr; 4 x 1.25 = 5 miles you go in 75 minutes. 10/4 = 2.5 hours to go 10 miles.

A) 4miles/60minutes = x miles/75minutes
4miles*75minutes = x miles*60minutes
300 = 60x
x = 5 miles
B) 4miles/60minutes = 10miles/x minutes
4miles*x minutes = 10miles*60minutes
4x = 600
x = 150 minutes

or

5miles/75minutes = 10miles/x minutes
5miles*x minutes = 10miles*75minutes
5x = 750
x = 150 minutes

Short answers: 5 miles for part a and 150 minutes for part b.

a.) 4mi/h * 75min * 1hr/60min = 5mi

b.) 10mi * 1hr/4mi * 60min/1hr = 150min
