The change was immediate (no one treats my parents like they were treated and stays in my life) but I then took a couple of weeks to get over my ex-fiancee, and since then have been having a better time than in the last 12 months of our relationship.

I always assess the new situation and choose to either accept it or deny it...most times I accept it and take the challenge by the horns. Like recently, I found out I was pregnant...again. We didn't expect it, we actually had given up on the idea that it would happen again for us. Our daughter will be 11 years old in October. So it will be quite the change, in a very short time. Therefore ignoring it is not an option. We are dealing with some complications with the pregnancy, so we constantly have to be on our toes with every single decision. Change is a great thing, if you choose for it to be. It's character building and it reflects everything that you are. When you accept change with love and peace in your heart, it's not such a hard thing after all.

Well, I'd venture to new ground.... but in a planned way! You can't ignore your heart when it tells you a change is needed, so put the wheels in motion to plan your next step. Do not quit your job, location or whatever on a whim, if you can help it.
Make sure something pretty certain is in place before cutting the rope and waving goodbye!

I don't change anything in my life immediate b/c I realize what stage of life I am at - I am 21 and when I sometimes decide to do something it might not always be the best thing (I may be thinking in the present instead of future) - which is why I give myself time to consider everything. But if you are at a different stage in your life and are sure of what your spontaneous thoughts tell you b/c you have trusted them before then why wait any longer?! I definitely don't ignore it b/c then u will be stuck in a rut of not being satisfied and we can't have that. Hope that helped :)

I'm very insecure, and I don't take change too well. I typically ignore it. If I wanted to take a chance, I'd have to mull over it for quite a while until I've examined some possible outcomes, and then MAYBE I'll venture to the new ground.

I consider the implications of chnge over a period of time then go fot it.
Once had the most boring job in the world. They wanted to promote me. The part of me that was alive called for change. I considered 25 years in a job I hated spending every minute wishing I was somewhere else getting reasonable pay. then I considered the new job, waking up looking forward to my day new challenges, new people but lower pay and no promotion prospects.
Then I went for it. Life has been far richer in experiences, and I have got by on the lower pay. Dont look back and dont regret.
Life is an adventure.

Ignore it for as long as I can
tolerate it (usually about 5-10 minutes), then go venture new territories at a leisurely pace.

Never ignore it. That would be like denying your own dreams.
But don't venture too hastily either.
There are times for spontaneity and even rashness but these are not realistic when considering life-altering changes.
I would hope life's experiences have taught me common sense enough to think all possible scenarios through.
