Hello... I was on antibiotics during the placebo week on my birth control pack. I was finished with the antibiotics before I started my new pack of pills.

I did not use a back up method of birth control.

Question: Would I be okay with protection since I was on the hormore free pill week of my packet while taking the antibiotics? Since there was nothing in my system to interfer with? How long does antibiotics stay in your system?

Would it happen to stay in my system long enough to make the next pill cycle ineffective at the beginning and therefore technically have me ovulate?

I didn't use a back-up method the entire month. I am about to get my period and have been noticing odd signs and then remember I was on antibiotics at the beginning of the month. I have been feeling a little queasy in the evening for the past five days and I have this clear, yellow discharge coming for a nipple when I squeeze it.

I think you shouldn't worry about anything. You should not be pregnant.

I would use condoms until my next period started. Even though you were on the placebo week, you still had hormones in your system and the antibiotics mess with that. You're probably covered, but I'd play it safe. Then again, I ALWAYS do.

To play it safe I'd use condoms as another form of protection for a week after getting off of it.
