My mom signed my debit card up for PayPal back in Dec last year. She used her e-bay account and won me a car. I didn't do any of the work as far as the signing up goes and I haven't read any of the e-mails they sent me. So I don't know what I'm doing.

The problem is this. I was thinking about looking for some toys on e-bay for my son. I don't know how to do make a payment through PayPal though and I know most use this. How do I set up and e-bay account and how do I use PayPal to pay for my purchases? I'm sure it's probably self explanatory, but I don't need to mess up my bank account!

To set up and eBay account just go to eBay and follow the prompts. They want you to sign up so they make it pretty easy. Once you have won an item they will give you the opportunity to pay through pay pal. Since you already have a pay pal account all you have to do is click on pay with pay pal and follow any prompts they give you. It is really very simple don't let it intimidate you, just follow the prompts.

It sounds like you already have a Paypal account. Ask your mom if you have an account(which is usually an email address and a password). If not go ahead and set an account up. This is easy to do. From there you can set up your funding accounts such as checking, debit card, credit card. From these choices you save this info with paypal and you can withdraw from these accounts to purchase or if you sell something thru ebay it can be added into those accounts. Paypal is a great thing for purchasing or selling.(and very secure) . I hope this helps some. If i can set one up anyone can. Good Luck

To get "verified" through Paypal you give them your checking account number and your routing number. Then they make two small deposits in your bank a few days later. You then tell them those amounts (call your bank and ask if two small deposits were made, and how much -- it'll be like 2 cents and 11 cents or something like that). Anyway, after you do that, you are Paypal verified, and you can use your checking account to pay. You can also still use your credit card. And to keep safe, just never ever ever answer emails about Paypal. No matter how great they look. If they want something from you or to tell you something, they will tell you through your online account. It is very safe.

Setting up an ebay account is easy. If your debit card is already signed up to a PP account, you will have to use that account. You need to use the same email address for the ebay account and the PP account though!
