Hi, my wife apparently has a bad check in Texas from before we left. We didnt know about it and it has been racking up interest for 14 months. Does anyone know if there is a statute of limitations for this in texas? Thanks.

BTW, it is a warrant now. does this make it not applicable to statute of limitations?

Depends on whether it was for an amount that would rise to felony level or misdemeanor.

Statute of limitations for misdemeanor is 2 years:

Art. 12.02. [181] [229] [219] MISDEMEANORS. An indictment
or information for any misdemeanor may be presented within two
years from the date of the commission of the offense, and not
afterward.

For felony looks like 5 years (theft):

(4) five years from the date of the commission of the
offense:
(A) theft, burglary, robbery;
(B) kidnapping;
(C) injury to a child, elderly individual, or disabled
individual that is not punishable as a felony of the first degree
under Section 22.04, Penal Code;
(D) abandoning or endangering a child; or
(E) insurance fraud;
