There are 2 kinds of inverses..Additive and Multiplicative.

Additive inverse means you should get 0 as your result or sum and Multiplicative means having 1 as your product.

so you should just get the number that when added to 1/3 will make the sum 0.

you could simply do it mentally or equate it to 0 since you are looking for an unknown.:

=>x+1/3=0
=>x= -1/3 (transposed 1/3 to get the value of x)
