She's still acting, but what she is famous for is the movie Flashdance. She had one of the most talked about dance scenes of the 1980s to the song "Fame"- where she danced around in a ripped sweatshirt (it became a trend and every teenage girl had one!!) and then ended up on a chair with water cascading down onto her. People still do parodies of this in comedy sketches. Actually she did not do the dance, they had a body double. I'm sure you can get tons of info googling her.
