I think he's guilty. He pleaded guilty, and now he regrets it. Why would he plead guilty if he's innocent?
Personally, I don't care if he's gay. I'm just grossed out that he was soliciting sex in a public bathroom.
I think it will have a negative impact on the next election. I wouldn't vote for him because he's been spouting anti-gay rhetoric for decades. I prefer to vote for someone who is more open minded and accepting. He's a hypocrite.

Of course Craig is guilty. Not only did he plead guilty - to a lesser charge, granted - but his story that he was rushed into it just doesn't hold water. He had two months to make a decision between the time he got caught and the time he went to court (I think it was June 11 to August 8). He thought no one would notice and now that this perverted incident has seen the light of day, he wants to plead not guilty because he was being investigated by a local newspaper. Now he wants to reopen the case and has hired a lawyer - he says. BS! It just doesn't work that way.

This man is not a dummy - he's a U.S. Senator for crying out loud! Anyone - ANYONE - who is falsely accused fights back, they don't plead guilty. Anyone who is falsely accused and pleads guilty is too stupid to be a U.S. Senator.

I am a staunch Conservative and always vote Republican although I think the Republicans do some very dumb things a good deal of the time. The Democrats are even worse. However, hypocrites and sleazebags like this guy, Craig, and former president Clinton, I cannot stand and will not tolerate.

This guy should resign his office just like Clinton should have resigned his office because both incidents were so shabby and disgusting and in the long run demoralize the citizenry and have a detrimental effect on the respective offices.

Think he is guilty???? Of course he is guilty! He is also a liar, a cheat, a hypocrite, and .... never mind...there is no point in going on. Let's just say this he and his ilk are at the bottom of the food chain, so let him be eaten alive. I feel sorry for his family...this @55 has the nerve to spout "family values," anti-gay rhetoric, and has voted down any legislation that provides equal rights for those who certainly pay equal taxes! He has cast himself on the waters, I hope he drowns in the sea he has created. What I expect next is to see Fox News running banners under the story, " Craig, Democrat from..." That is exactly what they did with the Foley incident...Every viewing of the Foley story had a banner, "Foley, Democrat from Florida" under the story. Fox News is about the same as the National Inquirer...very inventive, to say the least. and by the way, several men have come forward and said they, too, have had play dates with this liar. It wasn't that long ago when there was an entire blog on the net from one of them, and now, others are coming forward.... I am also equally sure that before this is over, the radical right wing will have this as H. Clinton's fault! It would seem that everything in life is one of the Clinton's fault. Amazing logic.

I think he plead guilty thinking he could quickly sweep the incident under the rug.

I was willing to cut Mr. "I'm not gay" some slack until I read the description of his actions. He wasn't furtively looking around, he was practically climbing under the stall next to him. There simply is no room for misinterpretation.

I think he'll pull back from all election activities, and may be asked to resign by the Republicans if this gets too distracting. The upcoming election is pretty much wide open, but the Republicans have got a lot of marks against them that they're going to have to overcome: Mark Foley, Senator Craig, war, Katrina, housing downturn, etc.

Do I think he went in that mensroom with the full intention of having impersonal sex with another male? Yes. From what the police officer in the stall reported, there can is no doubt that he was asking the guy for sex. I don't know what he is trying to prove now. He did it, period. I don't know why this police officer would make all of this up -- there is no reason to do so whatsoever.

Do I think the guy is gay? No, I think he is a bisexual. And when he says to everybody that he has never been gay I think he is not lying. But I also believe he knows he is not straight either. I don't think he is fully truthful to his wife or the public about his sexuality.

To protect his legacy, I think he should have resigned before all of this came out. And right now, for his own sense of well being, I think he should resign. Then he should take the time to get counseling and admit to himself what he truly is.

I will tell you something: There are very few men (straight, gay, or bi) who would put up with what the senator was doing in that restroom, especially if they were using the stall adjacent to his. And no man likes another man peeking through a crack in the partition while he is in there with is drawers down either. There's such a thing as privacy and respecting the privacy of others.

If nothing else Craig is guilty of being dumb! He plead guilty and only got a lawyer after his actions hit the news!

How does any one know who to vote for any more? The politicians who are honest and good people (like Jimmy Carter) don't have the strength to stand up to the bull. And the ones that are cut throat get us into trouble.

I joke with my boyfriend that I might vote for Fred Thompson because at lest he wont make a fool of himself on TV. I don't want to give up voting so I'll just vote for the best of the worst.

If you're not guilty then don't plead guilty.
He seems to be a self-hater, he's voted against every homosexual piece of legislation that's come before him, meanwhile he obviously has a secret self that he tries very hard to keep hidden. I think his lies will make it very hard for voters across the board to trust anyone in the next election. It's a shame but politicians like him cause us to question all of our leaders integrity.

He pled guilty in a court of law. What more evidence do you need?
The question is, if he's not gay, why does he have sex with men? Apparently this is a new sexual division. I'm just getting used to accepting gays as part of society, how many more sexual preferences are we supposed to accept.

Sure, he pled guilty and now he's remorseful because of the repercussions. Good luck. 2D

I don't care if he's gay, or if he solicited sex. There are so many more important things in this world, I guess it is a slow newsweek.
