p.s., i wasn't trying to say anything about the 'entire' state either kat, it don't take 2 years to get our kids some workable bathrooms that flush! for the love of GOD they put up stalls in our parks pretty darn fast, these kids are having a hard enough time without the dread of having to use a made over out house! priority!!

I am from the area, not New Orleans, but Ms. Unless you live close by, you really can't grasp the devastation that took place. New Orleans wasn't built in a year or two, and it certainly can't be rebuilt in that length of time either. I believe that the state of Louisiana, has done a poor job of reconstruction. Mississippi on the other hand was actually damaged more by the storm itself, than Louisiana. I'm very proud of the way we have dealt with things. We didn't get on that "media band wagon" and try to blame the President and the Republican party for sending Katrina to us. That really got my dander up! Never fall for the "spin" that the celebrities and the media put on things. This deserved a serious answer, now lets get back to the lighter side of life!

As Kanye West stated, "george bush does NOT like Black people"... AND... neither does the pseudo-democratic mayor (ray nagin - who was a republican, who could not win an election until he changed parties)... There is a current urban trend to rid its cities of poor Blacks and to send them to the poor White suburbs...It's happening here in Philly, too... (just not as efficiently as a natural disaster - despite fake, carefully timed "chocolate city" comments)

It's a huge embarrassment for the USA!
...I am not gloating, but I honestly think it wouldn't happen here in Britain; mind you I would've said that about the States not long ago!!?

because we are too busy kissing third world countries assez and sending them money to be our "friends". we need to keep our money here and use it for OUR PEOPLE. don't get me wrong, everyone deserves compassion, but the compassion should stay here and not go overseas until everything is right in our country.

good question btw!

Let me guess, you want to blame the federal government? Blame the city of New Orleans and their mayor.

i don't think the people recognize the scope of the devastation down there.
they have to rebuild the entire city and cleaning up the contaminated water and sewage is no easy feat...
