As a teenager, I want to act. Some say I'm good in arts and acting. Some say I'm good in Poetry and English. But some say I'm good in Math, so I should be an accountant. But my real dream is to become an actor. How will I start and when?

Any suggestions (except rude ones) will be greatly appreciated.

I would never say bluntly 'don't go there', if you Love something that much go for it and it would be EXTREMELY hypocritical. However you really, really shouldn't go into acting to become famous and popular.
Acting is a very hard career, I won't give you too longer lecture as I get fed up of them myself, but it may take years to make it and some actors never do. You will probably be out of work a lot and might not be on that gooder pay when you actually are working. parts are hard to come by, though it is slightly easier for males.
As you are good at maths maybe accounting should be your stand by career as a safe guard.
Get as much experience as possible, everyone starts somewhere. Just be sure about it and never rely on getting 'discovered', get to auditions and give them your all, but be prepared for some hard knocks. In the meantime take classes, if you can't read music maybe learning to play an instrument would be a good idea and singing is very useful. Also take care of your fitness, being on stage eight times a week can be very gruelling.

You don't want rude answers but the headline in your question is "Famous and Popular" You don't think that's asking for it? Just like being good at math doesn't mean you'll be a good accountant (you also have to be well organized and focused) being good in acting doesn't mean you're cut out to be an actor, let alone that you'd be able to handle fame and popularity.

It takes a lot of backbone and hard work. Making a statement asking people not to make rude suggestions especially to a group like paparazzi will only egg them on, get my meaning? If you become famous and popular the intense scrutiny only gets worse.

Your first step in becoming an actor is realizing that it's a lot of work. Humbling work. You will be one of many hudreds of thousands who want to make it in the business and in the end it may be your talent, it may be luck, connections, height, eye color, or even ethnicity that decides whether or not you get a role. I can tel you that in all honesty you'll probably make more money as an accountant.

How will you start? You start as soon as possible in anything you can. You need to have unimaginable drive not to mention your parents full support or you might as well buy your first ledger and tax software. You need to take classes. Acting, dance (yes boys need dance), and voice lessons. Get into all the theatre productions you can and since most theatres stick to musicals these days you will have to sing and dance hence the voice lessons and dance classes. When you're starting out this is how you add to your resume.

Then you start looking for student and indie folm roles to add to your resume. Check out www.backstage.com and www.actorsaccess.com for audition info. You can also see if your state has a film alliance / commission / society or whatever your state calls theirs (some have more than one). Sometimes they post audition information for projects filming locally. Some sites also have information on where to take classes, but be sure to check out any business throroughly. Always take someone with you to auditions for safety purposes.

Once you have a decent sized resume you can try looking for an agent. To do so before you have a good resume will likely get your headshot thrown directly in the trash.

good luck!

You start by acting in all the school plays and taking speech and drama classes, then you get a mentor, then you read a lot of plays and books on acting, then you expand into community theatre plays and professional acting classes, then you try to get an agent.
This takes a long time and a lot of hard work. Click on my name, read my profile and tell me all about yourself to my aol address and I will see if I can help you. PS, I want to know if you have your parents' backing to become an actor.

I'll simply add that you can become famous (or infamous) by doing something heinous or stupid or tragically wasteful. you can become popular by being nice to lots of people and listening well and being a good friend.
But acting is not a route to being famous and popular. Seeking those as the goal of acting is almost certainly a route to bitter disappointment.
