Grab them all the way at the base and pull gently increasing the pull as needed. If your luck you'll get the roots.

Aside from removing the sidewalk it is almost impossible to pull the entire weed out from the cracks. Just get some weed killer and spray it on the weed.

When I was growing up there WAS no such thing as Round-Up, and my folks refused to have most poisons around... BUT they had kids (free slave labor).
To PULL them, grab them in gloves as LOW as possible and pull SLOWLY... you've succeeded if you come up with roots !
You can also just run a small hoe across the cracks... it will scrape off the weeds, but they'll probably come back since the roots are still there.
Now, we USE Round-up, but NO where near the house because of pets and our WELL !! Be very careful if you have a well, because that stuff gets into the GROUD WATER

Are you purposely trying to just pull as opposed to killing? Because a good squirt of a product such as RoundUp will kill the weeds in the sidewalk within 24 hours. Just be careful and don't spray it near anything you want to KEEP growing! But it works, that's for sure!

Get a product called "Round-up" from your local garden center. It's a weed killer spray that you just spray on those weeds and they die. It's a lot easier. They also won't grow back for several months - if at all.

Screw pulling them!! I found a fantastic product at home depot. Its a weed killer gel. I'm not sure what its called its the only gel weed killer and its green. I sprayed it on and within a few hours they were brown and starting to shrivel. Within 48 hours, they were totally shrivelled.

You're best off visiting Home Depot and getting a spray to kill htem and prevent them from returning. Round Up works great

Don't pull the weeds - pour boiling water on them and they will die.

VINEGAR -WILL KILL YOUR WEEDS THEY WILL GET LIMP AND FALL DOWN AND JUST PICK THEM . WILL NOT BE HARD TO PICK .
DONT PUT IT WITH FLOWERS OR IT WILL KILL THE FLOWERS . ITS CHEAP TO BUY AND IT WORKS .YOU JUST HAVE TO DEAL WITH THE SMELL A FEW DAYS , BUT SO WHAT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ITS CHEAP.
