driver side window button will not work either side. if you wire
it directly to a battery it will go up and down I 've bought 3 window switches 2 new, one used. very flustrating

you may went to check your wring in between the door there might be some broken wires i had that happen to me on a 90 van

Eautorepair.net and wirediagram.com have wiring diagrams for a small fee---don't know of any for free unless your local dealer will copy some pages from a service manual. Sounds like a bad wire or relay in the circuit providing power....test for power and ground at the switch harness connector ---larger wires probably---and the one that is not a ground will be the power feed wire, then trace that back through the door to body harness and into the vehicle. Sometimes the door to body harness wires get brittle from opening and closing the door and may break causing the problem you have or the power relay for the circuit is bad....fuses ok? The12volt.com has wiring info for alarm systems that may be helpful also.

I bet you shampoo your door panel or use some kind of cleaner, it has gotten in to the switch and is preventing proper contact, all you can do is replace the switch.
