As a U.S. citizen I care about our image with regard to some things. With regard to others I don't. We can't live our lives constantly worrying about what everybody else thinks and I certainly wouldn't expect you to live your life worrying about what we think.
Some decisions are best made at home and sometimes everybody needs to back off and mind their own business.

As an American I want to be concerned with our image...but to a limit. I think a lot of the anti-American commentary out there is just from people around the world who hate America no matter what we do or don't do.
For example...when the Dubya took over, the mantra pre 9/11 was we weren't going to get involved in every little thing all over the world. The response of these people basically said, "You selfish superpower...don't care about anyone but yourselves". When ironically...the call prior to then during Clinton's administration (and post 9/11) was "You selfish superpower, can't mind your own business."
Look at what happened in Haiti...the UN begs us to go down there and intervene. No sooner than we get the president out of there those same people that wanted us involved took a dump on us because of the ridiculous accusations of the Hatian president accusing us of kidnapping him.
To the people of the world that hate us no matter what...yes I am concerned about our image. But I will start listening and speaking about it objectively once you pull your heads out of your asses and do the same.

I sure do. That's why I didn't vote for Bush in 2000 or 2004, and am vocal and active in campaigns to impeach him and Cheney, overturn his corrupt, treasonous legislation, get us out of Iraq, and get us back to a civilized, rational form of foreign policy.
It's the ADMINISTRATION that doesn't seem to care what their image on the global stage is.
And why should they when they are all shareholders and owners of the Military Industrial Complex? They have no conscience, and war means big profits to them.

Actually we do give a damn. I didn't vote for Bush and I am appalled at his actions.
I did vote in the Senatorial elections in the middle of his term in and attempt to change congressional votes. As did many Americans. We have to wait until '08 to vote in a new President and hopefully positive change will follow.

Of course! Why do we need to be bullies and act like jerks?
I don't want the world to hate us. it makes it a lot unsafer for us!
Bush will be gone soon if he doesn't organize another terrorist attack and declare Martial Law, which I would not put past him!

Everybody keeps saying that but people keep coming here in ever-increasing numbers, legally and illegally - - - so it doesn't seem to play out.
