In a recent programme TV on 99 best songs by music directors, SD Burman had maximum number of songs included, whereas Anil Biswas, Salil Chaudhry, Madan Mohan, OP Nayyar, Naushad, Jai Dev have also achieved remarkable levels in Hindi films. The current crop is no match to any of the named stalwarts.

AR Rehman is the best. He is the most innovative of all. He is recognised in the world. The next is Illay Raja having recorded a symphony.

I agree... A R Rahman....
But SD Burman, RD Burman, Madan Mohan and Hridaynath Mangeshkar (marathi mostly) are names which are synonymous with good music...
