I danced with danger a lot more when I was younger, but you reach a point in life where you say, "uh oh, gonna die one of these days. I had better take better care so that I don't help make that happen any sooner than necessary". In a nutshell, when you truly realize your mortality, you also understand the impact of your actions on yourself and others. It tends to make you do a much safer dance.

We all are dancing with danger, every morning when we open our eyes and find we can breath again, and get out of bed, the very act of awakening and participating in life is a walk on the wild side. Some make to bed time that night/ others don't only to the local morgue.......its a dangerous world and we only walk through it by the grace of.....whatever you want to call it......luck, God, non-god or all the gods.

No. I work with dangerous chemicals, and power all the time. I do it safely.
I don't take great risks unless I have been forced into a corner. It is always better to find a safe way to do a thing.
Stunt drivers, race car drivers, deep sea divers, Sky divers, pilots, astronaut's, chemists, Police officers, Firefighters, all do the things they do with safety in mind. Dangerous jobs with safe approaches.

No. One is merely dancing with his own life.

We get one life and according to some, that is excuse enough to live it up as much as possible. To do things such as bungee jump, smoke, drink, drive, eat fast food, jump from a perfectly good airplane with a supposedly working parachute are all examples of things that put is in danger.

There are things that can kill us, for instance, a bite from a banana spider, but does that actually make it deadly? When one lives, one will inadvertantly die. When one is born, one will die. Every day, we are dying.

So, in a logical way of thinking, to do things that put us at risk make sense. Every day is a terrible risk. Every day we could die.

Yeah, I'm a smoker. As far as thrill-seeking goes, the worst I'll do is a carnival ride. (More dangerous than the ones that get maintenance, in my opinion.) I used to be worse with the dangerous things in my life, but that all changed when I realized how much I had to live for.

i think for some, its a case of thinking even if they dont dance with danger, danger may sneak up and get them anyway!
and that is really true, so i would say be cautious but dont over worry, and practice safe habits, that way when you get caught by danger atleast you can say you didnt actively do it to yourself
i also smoke, and if i dont get hit by a car, killed in a terrorist act, catch a fatal air-borne illness, murdered by an intruder , caught up in a tornado, etc etc and i get cancer, i will be mad at myself for doing it

Sometimes I just feel trapped, motivated but trapped.
Sometimes I feel caught between the lesser of two evils,
such as time to exercise vs. time to make money to keep
a roof over my head - have to commute a long way to
go to work, so I spend a lot of time for my work day
without time to exercise.
Solutions are sometimes difficult to find (and balance).

Yes, always......why you ask?
Well, because, you only live once, and how are you going to find out if it's dangerous if you don't put yourself at risk.....

Yes EVERYTHING in life is a gamble. Life is like a casino... if you dont plan to gamble... you will gain nothing out of life. You just let life pass you by.
