I am an American woman that lives in Egypt. And I am happy there. I live in Mansoura, about 3 hours from Cairo. My city is like a third world country in some ways, yet having everything, well almost everything "a modern" needs.

Our last furniture, was transported, and delivered from a horse and cart, haha. And, donkey pulled carts are as numerous as cars. Yup, we have to step over donkey poop when crossing the street.

It's not for everyone, but it's for me. Somehow, I am enchanted with my city, Mansoura. Go figure.....

Nope. Love the house. Hate the area. Gossiping, overweight women over the garden fence. Road racers, aggressive teenagers and recently a terrible, awful attack that makes me want to tell the whole damn world, because i'm so upset and gutted and frightened by what these kids did. Not to mention nauseated.
Where is it safe to live these days?

This is one of the best areas you can live in(unless another hurricanes is on the way of course). The people in south Louisiana are the best in the world and so is that cajun and creole food.
