Maybe they mean to come back later and take care of the question but they are rushing to get out the door to go to work?
Of else they think your question is great, but the answers are so awesome that they don't even dare try to compete with them?

Well anna, I have starred questions and not answered them.
It is usually because I like the question but feel it may be just a tad to controversial or personal, and I'd rather not get in the middle of it.
Some questions, such as "how do you feel about abortion, and why", or "what are your views on assisted suicide", are excellant questions, and worthy of discussion, but they really can not be properly addressed on a limited forum such as this.
Plus, no matter how you answer a question like that, be it for or against, you are bound to piss somebody off, and the next thing you know you've got 27 violations and your account gets suspended.
So instead of answering, I just star the question to let the asker know I find it interesting.

No, not really. Sometimes I like the question and look at the answers - if I feel I can't contribute something original, I just star the question. Is that weird?

I have starred a few questions when I didn't answer them, because several other people had already given the answer that I would have. These are the one's that had many answers .

No, not really... I sometimes star a question if I feel that it is a good question for which I have no response or for which several people have already posted my response... OR... if it is some information for which I want a definitive answer...

I do that sometimes because while I don't have the answer I would like my contacts to see the question and maybe want to answer it.

a lot of times they star it so they can answer it later, but either they forget or it's too late by the time they finally get around to answering it.
