i applied to an american university and i sat the ELPET(english language proficiency test) test as an entrance test.. later on when i went to check my grade and if i am accepted or not,i was informed that i will study 4 subjects of my major along with english 101 .. now what is english 101 :S ??

yeah i also study in an american university so i did english 101 it is composition and rheoric.. which means that they teach you about three types of essays and grammar rules also.. there is a compare contrast essay.. a research essay and persuasive essay!
u will have to use sources from the online database and also you will have to submit them according to formatting given by the teacher. :)
there are other materials but these are the most important.. the final exam is an essay (any of the three) on an unknown beforehand topic! good luck!

When I took Eng 101 it was grammar: parts of speech, punctuation, writing paragraphs, etc.
