University City, in St. Louis County, Missouri. It's a fine old town (just celebrated it's 100th birthday), with a multicultural population that get along well. I live near The Loop, a section of Delmar Avenue that has trendy shops and a well-known night club (Blueberry Hill), and good restaurants. It attracts students and tourists. The streets are mostly lined with trees, the buildings mostly old brick, and the people very nice. There are parks and "walks" (sort of like an alley with trees and benches and no cars), so it's a nice place to walk around.

City Hall is a lovely old structure, sort of like a tower, octagon shaped and quite tall and narrow. It was once the headquarters of the publisher who founded University City. The library is large and well-stocked, including CDs and DVDs as well as books.

beautiful Bamberg, Germany

Like Rome, Bamberg extends over seven hills, each crowned by a church. This has led to Bamberg being called the "Franconian Rome" - although a running joke among Bamberg's tour guides is to refer to Rome as the "Italian Bamberg".
