What recourse do we have in RI if we are in involved in case and lawyer also involved, seems to have a very big habit of 'forgetting things', or disregarding written statement they were party too? I feel this is hindering the case, is there an ethics board?

should also add, the other lawyer involved is claiming to have not seen documents, not read them, yet time and time emails form the lawyer confirm they have recieved them and or addressed specific sections. It is seemingly a very effective approach to increase billable hours or sow confusion. In addition, there time to respond has actually increased the pain on my side.

If you are unhappy with your own lawyer's actions, fire them and get another lawyer. If you feel that your own lawyer has also acted unethically, report them to the state bar discipline board after you fire them and hire a new lawyer.

If you are unhappy with the other side's lawyer, well, of course you are! During litigation, the other side is the enemy and you will spend a lot of time trying to figure out what they are doing and thinking and then getting very frustrated. Sometimes the other side does behave unethically, but right now you need to keep your focus. Just make sure you have the best, most hardworking lawyer you can afford and get through this lawsuit as best you can.

Your lawyer or the other sides' lawyer? If it's your lawyer, see the other answers. If it's the other side's lawyers you have to understand that the lawyer has a right to believe their client and not to believe you. Sometimes people argue that lawyers are 'lying' when they are advocating their clients' position in a situation where the two sides are arguing about what the facts are. And 'disregarding statements'? They may not think the statement is credible or relevant.

Just a personal opinion.
