No, I do not remember "Burger Chef". But my parents said that they remember it, and it was good.

I sure do. The home of the Big Shep and the Super Shep burgers, if I remember correctly. They were also one of the first fast food places to have a station set up where customers would put their own toppings on burgers.
Most of the Burger Chefs were bought in the early 80's by the company who owned Hardee's and made them into Hardee's. Some Burger Chefs were allowed to stay open if they were near a Hardee's. Hoped I copied down this address right which has photos of Burger Chefs, or is it Burgers Chef? LOL LOL Here it is:

I used to go to a Burger Chef (1969) and it was on Van Born Road Taylor Michigan and the salad bar and "fixiings bar" was awesome~salad bar only cost 45 cents and the burgers were cheap then as well a the fries...I think you could get a small drink, small fry and a burger for 45 Cents... but this was a long time ago

They had them up here in New england in the 1980s, but they died off really quickly. In Middletown RI we had a Burger Chef that became a Hardee's that became a Burger King that became something else completely different, the last time I checked a few years ago,
Burger Chef apparently couldn't compete in any way, shape or form. No signature sandwich or anything.

Burger Chef and Jeff, they were the best. I remember them when I was a kid. In this area, St. Louis, all the Burger Chef's became Hardees' fast food places.

I recall as a kid going to a Burger Chef by Northern Mich. U. in Marquette, Mich. My favorite item on the menu was the Fun Meal.

man, i remember them. it makes me sad they are all gone. when i was a little kid my granpa would take me there for lunch, they had these cool happy meal type lunches for kids, it was a flat cardboard tray for your food but it would have like a treasure map or a cartoon on it, plus a toy. i also loved the fixins bar, i could put on as many pickles as i wanted
