I have lived in the south and north, and i will take the heat over the cold, the heat is more uncomfortabe physically but a 6 month winter with no sunshine that locks me inside a house as if I were a prisoner is psychologically devastating.

Hot weather because I would much rather boil to death in the heat than freeze to death in the cold.

Cold cause you can always put more clothes on or turn the heater up to get warm. Hot you can't do anything to really cool down
