This means if you try to be more then you are and become jaded and follow the wrong path then you will not succeed. I think that this does not determine if you are going to go to heaven though.

Based on the precepts you have presented it is my personal interpretation that the simplest way to Heaven is live in the simplest way you can. Don't overdo things as this will keep you in trouble. Don't push yourself to the limits for you have only one life to live, Just be happy and contented of your life. For after all the utmost desire for a human is to live a happy life for this the key to Heaven.
