And don't trot out the Crusades as an example of "Christian aggression against 'innocent' Muslims'. Real history is that the Crusades were a defensive reaction to centuries of Islamic conquest and agression. This is REAL HISTORY not the watered down anti-Western history your liberal professors have indocrinated you with.

A better question would be why does Hllary say we need to embrace this religion? Is this not also Obamas roots as well? Do we really need this in America?

There are two parts to an answer to your question. First part, Islam is a hate filled and violent religion because the Koran has a section called the JIHAD which clearly states that Muslims are to take over the world's religion by committing a Jihad which is a take over by force. In the early days of Islam this is the way it was done and Muhammed was one of the murderers who took over a small town and pressed it into the Islamic faith....only the people in the town (Jews) didn;t accept Islam as their faith and 100 of them were killed. This continues today. The Crusades were funded by the Catholic church for land and money. It was NOT a defensive move on the part of the Christians....and any book that tells you this is perpertrating a lie. The Crusaders were finally beaten at a cost of many lives and over the years and were finally moved out of the holy land. It was a quest for land and power and it finally backfired. Throughout the centuries man has been killing man for power and land with religion sprinkled in. It will never stop. You got what I got....I want it!

Yes the crusades were a sort of retaliation. Sort of when a fly bugs you for half an hour then you swat it down. You see the Crusaders were exceptionally ruthless and destroyed many cities without thought for man woman or child. They all died in brutal ways. They did this because Islam was trying to take over areas that were not theirs. But to argue about who was right then today, is pointless and just a little bit foolish.

And the reformation wars included Islam? The war in Ireland?

Sorry, I have found no religion to be without violence.

And, sorry, but I've seen Christians on this board filled with a lot of hate.

Christians and Jews lived peacefully with Muslims throughout centuries in the Middle East and other Asian and African countries. Jews fled from Spain during the Inquisition, and they were welcomed by the Muslims.

The Crusades was actually a series of actions, not all of them against Muslims.

Was it defensive when the Crusaders participated in cannibalism?

Was it defensive when the Crusaders slaughtered women and children?

Was it defensive when the Crusaders launched crusades against emerging denominations of Christianity?

Was it defensive when Crusaders killed Jews and Christians of denominations that weren't welcome in Christendom?

Yes you're right however the medieval popes saw a threat to their revenue, and it is the pope that started the crusades. He wasn't interested in ministering to the poor in Jerusalem, he wanted the $$$. I think you need to read about the pope that was a Borgia and realize how corrupt popes were in those days. Sure Jesus and the apostles were from that area, but $$$$$ is what makes the Catholic church run.

I believe it is because so many of them live in hot climates. I remember my school days as a child. Before all of the schools were air conditioned I could never concentrate and was very quick to fight. It stopped when the weather cooled. When air conditioning became common the anger would stop once they turned the air on.

Any opposition to what was preached in their bible. To not destroy opposition is a deadly sin in it's self. If you are different in your ideologies then you are foul and unclean...aka an infidel.

Pfft!

You need a real history lesson about Islam if this is what you BELIEVE to be an example of a violent, hate-filled "religion".

Didn't you know that Christians always trotted out how their enemies were more violent and barbaric--right before they went off and killed them in the name of God and all that was "good"?

Islam--before it was taken apart by a few extremist groups--is one of the few religions on Earth which practice what they preach.

Everything else is just built on lies and hypocrisy.

I think you'll find it was the "Christian Govt" of the US that overturned democrcies throughout South America after 1945 and replaced these democracies with dictators and supported these dictators in the slaughter of thousands and thousands of innocents.

It was the Christian govts of Britain and the US that supported Suharto in Indonesia as he slaughter (sorry commited genocide) more that 250,000 people.

It was Christianity that led witch trials and the Spanish Inquisition. The Christian US invaded Vietnam killing countless numbers, invaded Iraq causing the deaths of between 100,000 and 600,000. They were the ones who instigated sanction against Iraq leading to thousands of deaths of men, women and children through hunger and inadequate medical supplies.

Britain, France and Germany slaughtered their way through Africe in the name of Christianity. Britain also slaughtered its was through South East Asia in Gods name.

I think you need to consider two things before making stupid posts.

Get your facts right.

People in glass shouldn't throw stones.
