So im driveing home from work on a hot summer day, and my car starts do over heat. I pull over and let it cool down. Once it cools down I drove home no problems at all. About an hour after ariveing home I go out to my car and check the raditor to see how much fluid I have in it, it turns out to be close to empty. So I fill it up with water and bleed the air . After I do all that my nephew came out and tryed to help me by spraying my engine with a waterhouse! I then start the car and try to drive to the store but it died about 3 feet of traveiling. I then try to start it againg and it dose nothing but crank over. So I asumed that either my distriputer, coil, spark plug, and or spark plug wires are wet. So I wait a good 3 hours and try it and still nothing. After about the third try it started up and I had to constaly give it gas to keep it runing. I checked my RPM gage and it strangely read under 1,000 when I was giveing it gas at est 4,000 RPM. What could the problem be?Any help will do

Sounds like the distributor or rotor behind the water pump is filled with water or cooked. I would make sure to remove the plug and coil wires one at a time and check to be sure there are no carbon tracks or water remaining to cause such a wicked miss.
