As a teacher I am curious to know why you hate this person. If it is because they enforce the rules, then the problem is you. I have heard many students express a dislike for a teacher and in the course of their conversation I find out that it is because they were disciplined by that teacher for not following the rules.

If the person is not a good teacher or is mean then you will have to find a way to cope with the situation. You will experience this all through life. You will have to work with or for people that you do not like. Try to be as pleasant as possible, do your work and turn it in on time, show respect for the teacher and the class. You will only be in this person's class for so many minutes a day and maybe only for this year. Hang in there, you can put up with this person for that amount of time. Who knows, by the time the year is over you may find that this person is not that bad after all, stranger things have happened.

Keep in mind, that we teachers are people also. If you treat us with disrespect and act out in class it is hard for us to enjoy your company also. I try to treat everyone the same and treat them fairly. But I am sure that I have fallen short in this area before. I am sure that there are times when my students do not like me. If you misbehave in the class, expect consequences. If you do not study or do the assignments, expect a low grade. Do not blame me for "giving" you a detention or for "giving" you a D or an F as a grade. I did not give you anything, you got what you "earned".

I am not trying to defend all teachers. I know that some are not good teachers and are not fair. Since you did not say what the problem was and why you did not like this person, all I ask is that you take a look at your behavior and attitude. Could it be that you need to make a change? Let me make it perfectly clear, I am not saying that you are the problem. I am just asking that you analyze the situation.

I do give you credit for trying to find a way to get along with this person instead of giving up. That says a lot about you. Good luck.

You've had some good suggestions here:
1. Be respectful.
2. Complete all assignments and turn them in on time. Do your very best work.

Here's one more thing to try:
3. Try to find one thing that you can admire in this person. It might be the way they present one particular lesson. It might be the way they begin and end every class right on schedule. It might be the way they handled a situation with a student, administrator, parent, or another teacher. Be sure to make a positive comment to the teacher about it, like "Thank you for the way you presented that lesson today. It was very clear and I really understand the concept now."

You'll meet people you dislike all through life, but with most people you'll be able to find SOMETHING positive. If you try to focus on the positives and be respectful, you'll usually get the same in return.

Good luck!

school just started correct?

how is it that you can hate someone from what a few weeks of knowing them? Quite a bit ago, I read something that I keep on hand in case I start to get annoyed with normal difficulties in life.

Sigmund Wollman often kicks me in the butt and lets me know that I am the problem.

Ultimately they decide whether you pass or fail and that should be enough motivation to at least treat them with the respect that they deserve.

I think you just got to do your best to treat them with respect, and make sure you don't give any extra reason for them to give you negative attention. (Be on time, turn everything in on time, follow instructions the best you can etc etc)
