Not including plastics (which are macromollecular, containing very long chain molecules) and foodstuffs, which contain very large complex protein molecules and long carbohydrate molecules, or waxes which contain long hydrocarbon molecules, one common material with relatively large molecules is soap. One end of the molecule is polar, and is attracted to water, and the other end of the molecule is non-polar ans is attracted to fats, and it is this characteristic that makes soap so useful as a cleaning agent.
