Your best bet would be to take your coin to a local coin dealer. They will be able to tell you so much more by evaluation the condition of the coin. They will also know the amount minted and what it is going for in today's market.
Try posting pictures on this website (there are many coin experts here that can help you evaluate it - there also may be people willing to buy if you are trying to sell):

In 1969 Singapore came out with a regular circulated $1 coin and a $1 proof coin, which is double/triple struck and not entered into regular circulation but was issues as a collector's item. The $1 circulated coin can be worth up to $2 (in mint-state condition) whereas the proof $1 coin is worth about $100. Difference is they made over 1,800,000 circualted coins and only 3,000 proof coins.

The 1969 Singapore dollar KM# 6 is not scarce, it had a mintage around 1,871,000 and sells for .75 each, if you can find a buyer. There is 1.51 Singapore dollars to the U.S. dollar. The $10 coin was first issued in 1972 and it looks like all are commemoratives, would have to know date and what is on the coin as well as what metal it is made of.

DO NOT CLEAN THE COINS. The main reason is that no matter what type cleaner you use, it will cause abrasions on the coin. They may be tiny, but in coins, the smallest scratch changes the value of the coin. In the case of some coins, that scrath may result in a loss of value of thousands.

If such coins are withdrawn from currency, then you may get good price. In case the coins are in circulation, you will get the face value.

i think it would be worth more than a $ now not much but maybe a $1.50, if you keep a hold of it the price can only keep going up.
A golden Anglo saxon coin in england was recently found (from the 6th centruy) which is now worth over £150,000! ($300,000 approx)
