Yes but, it's a proven fact, this has happen in the past, he may be able to keep up but, he will eventually come to a point where he will come to an "idling spot in his life. He will gain no further intelligence and will slowly slow down.
It's not known why these young people get this "burst" from, the T.V. series "Dowgie Howser" the young man that was an certified physician at 16 years old but, reached a point in his life where psychologically he became "frozen" or could not learn anymore, his friends caught up with him.

The challenge to become part of the adult world also was detrimental to their well being, they just aren't accepted or trusted.
Would you trust a doctor that was 14 years old, if you had your life savings in a bank and knew a 16 years old was in charge, or stocks, etc.
