If we live in a free country and it's your body why can't you make a living off it?

I just seems unfair.

Prostitution is inevitable; it has been around since the dawn of time. It is th worlds oldest profession.

Why not regulate it and let the government make a little money off of it.

It might also serve as a way to keep underage girls out and prevent abuse of the prostitutes by pimps.

i come from new zealand, about 5 or so years ago a bill went through our parliament to de-illegalize prostitution and place safe restrictions on it, so regular health checks by inspectors etc etc, it passed. but at the time there was massive debate largely heralded by christian conservatists etc saying that it would cause the destruction of our communities as we know it....well chicken little the sky has not fallen.

prostitution has been apart of our world since way before roman times, it has its place, and i believe that people have a right to be able to seek sex and pay for it as much as those who want and or need to use it to pay for their lives. i do think that prostitutes should be treated with respect that anyone who is providing a service should be, and that regulations should be in place to ensure the sexual health of the workers, and their clientelle. i do not however agree with prositution of those people who cant legally consent to sexual activity, so child prositutions, or the use of say mentally disable people who cant consent is wrong. and if prostitution is being used to fund drugs etc again wrong, there is alot of grey out there surrounding the working scene that i am not okay with and never will agree with but in essence i do not think selling your body should be illegal. i know there is a possible argument for lawyers to say that a person can not own their body etc and that legalizing would allow them to sell more then just their sexual services (in nz you can sell body organs, as for some reason you do not own them??? dont ask me why i cant remember) but to put it simply yes free country, you should have that right.

specific, i'm a teenage female yet i think it is going to. women people are captivating, this is not any longer unsuitable to admire their attractiveness. If the girl is comfortable with being a prostitute then i'm inquisitive approximately it. besides the fact that, i don't sense it is stable for women to be forced into being a prostitute suitable right here from poor factors and assorted worldwide places, women to be abused by using way of their pimps, and for women to get raped. numerous those products is going on in my opinion thinking prostitution is illegitimate. We make intercourse appear like this style of grimy and disgusting ingredient yet, somewhat, some adult males and ladies like it. I in my opinion have faith that if we legalized prostitution it could desire to over the years be a safer and much less grimy ingredient. If the ladies have been paid thoroughly and had adequate funds, i do no longer think of there could be as a lot of them in the streets and no longer as many could have std's that they bypass alongside. I additionally assume that the rape expenditures could decrease back. i understand this sounds undesirable yet I do evaluate this is a surprising suggestion, seem at Amsterdam and Paris for representation, intercourse is staggering and healthful for the physique. If it grew to become into authorized, it could be in a safer environment. merely sayin.

Yeah it goes with the arguement of growing a plant that can be used for rope or another that was here before we even knew what it really did. So with the rules we have to live by and the things we can do to ourself or with plants is just another arguement that we all have had with one person or another. I think its wrong to degrade yourself with prostitution. Yeah it was legal years ago.

I agree, but the government makes far too much money off of fines and seizures to ever legalize it. Taxes levied just would not make up for the losses. The same applies for our drug laws.

I think that I have never had to pay for sex, therefore it isn't an issue with me. Would you feel the same if your daughter wanted to be a prostitute?

I agree with Danny. It should be legalized cuz then there could be protocol and standards and all the other mambo jumbo that the govt does, but it's too much time and not enough money

Logically it makes sense, but it will never happen in the US. The United States is far too much of conservative and religious nation to allow anything of that magnitude to happen. It may happen in some of your more liberal states, but to have that happen in all of the states is virtually impossible.
