Unlike humans, where the hand is an object of manipulation, the T. rex arm was so hopelessly short it couldn't even feed itself using its hands like humans do. Therefore, from an evolutionary point of view, it could never be compassionate, enlightened (and intelligent). At best, it would be enlightened enough to know its own manual and tactile limitation, a problem which, no doubt, would drive it crazy.

He would probably regret his need to eat you (compassion)
and be enlightened enough to except that it is his nature and therefore why fight it, and lastly intelligent enough to hunt your
butt down and make a meal out of you. Your only chance
might be to offer a viable alternative...steak barbeque ?
or develop weapons that were truly devestating and scary
even to a T rex
