I wanted to know if the price is good for the specs I'm getting. I want to be able to do 3D animation (Maya), edit full length movies (Adobe Premiere), and play games. Here are the specs and the total cost.
Processor - Intel Core 2 Duo E6850 3.0Ghz
Memory - 4Gb
Hard Drive - 320Gb 7,200 rpm
Video Card - Nvidia GeForce 8800 GTS (640Mb)
And all the other necessary parts to run a computer (ie. Case, motherboard, monitor)
Price $1,300
Please give me feedback.

ARCTIC COOLING Freezer 7 Pro also.
I understand that the quad core will be better for video editing and 3D, but will the E6850 overclocked (3.6ghz) be around the same computing power as the q6600 overclocked.
Also. The whole setup is $1,300. The price includes everything

is the 1300 for the processor, memory, hard drive and graphicscard? or is that all u have to spend? im guessing thats just for what you have listed and yes thats a great setup. i would look at this motherboard http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?item=N82E16813131073
on stock cooling you should be able to overclock that cpu to 3.4-3.5ghz, with a better heatsink you could push it over 3.5ghz.
you didnt say what kind of memory it was. go with ddr2 800 or 1066 and get a good brand. i would go with a full size case with a decent amount of fan spots to keep everything cool and a large power supply(850-1000watts), you may not need it all now but its better to go bigger now in case u want to upgrade to a 2nd graphics card and run them in sli.
i dont know how soon your building this but the nvidia 8900 series should be out soon.
on a final note, if you plan on doing more 3d animation and movie editing than gaming you may want to look at the q6600 instead. its slower(2.4ghz), but you should be able to overclock to around 3.0ghz, higher with a better heatsink, or if you can afford the extra money the q6700(2.66ghz), they run slower than the e6850, but are quad core vs dual core. quad cores are much better for video editing, etc.
EDIT
with the video editing overclocking the q6600 to 3.0-3.2 will be much better than the e6850 overclocked to 3.6. a quad core can cut video editing in half or more vs a dual core.
u may also want to look at a larger power supply. if u end up wanting to get a 2nd graphics cards and run sli that psu wont be strong enough. look at 850-1000watts
also depending on your case, if you have room you may want to look at this cooler instead. i think im going with it myself if i dont go water cooling. it moves almost twice the air and from the reviews ive read, very quiet. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835106102

LOL YES, thats a predy dam powerful pc the 8800 is one of the most powerful graphics cards avalible on the public market(they come in bout 6 size's, yours is the 2nd from bottom but they are a top line, you will be able to edit movies, play games and do 3d animation probly all at the same time! lol. the only thing that might hold you back is the 3ghz processor, however it will be more than powerful enuff to run anything you want. if you overclock it will do even better(buy more fans / water cooling) if you do.

Yes it would be good for anything.
Plus you can play any game at full settings.
An excellent price.
If you do a lot of video editing consider adding a 500+ GB internal drive.
You probably should add a gaming mouse (Logitech MX518 or Logitech G5) and a gaming keyboard.

For the configuration that you have given in your question, would say that it will run all the applications that you have listed. And probably play most of the games.
But, would not rate this configuration as 'top-of-line'.
So, If there have been a scoring out of 10, would give this configuration a solid 8.5........

Oh, come on, you are making us envious with that powerful set up. You can almost do anything with that kind of rig, more so when overclocked. Great price too.
