that land mass that you sit on doesn't float. if global warming proceeds in any big way your island will go under like the rest of the land masses.

Because you also have some of the lowest rainfall in the world and it's getting lower?
From what I see in the news Australia should probably be more worried than a lot of the more densely populated countries.

We only have the lowest population density if you consider the outback and bugger all people live there.
The majority of Australia's population live on the East coast. WE get wet feet and nowhere to grow food and all the toilets will back-up.

because we are all affected by the weather regardless of how many people live on our little island! global climate affects ALL of us.
one one simple scenario - if the weather turns to cr@p here, then we'll have a heck of a time having any agricultural industry and then how will we feed ourselves, especially if other countries are having trouble feeding their own citizens?
