There are several things she can do, there are numbers in the first part of the phone book as i agree with some of the the other answers, also, she has to be willing and not scared to do something otherwise it will get worse, also there should be women shelters for her if she want to stay away from her husband, he cant go near her there, she can call the local police department, and pretty much they will recommend her there to the Battered/abused Women shelter
my mother has been through this type of situation where my step father would get drunk and literally hit my mother and not allow her to do things and was always controlling her to no end, she finally went to a womens shelter and called the some helpline phone numbers in the phonebook, this took care of the situation now she is now with a caring man, all it takes is a wife to step up and talk about it and get help, she has made a good choice by getting away from him,

Her first step is to file police reports concerning the alleged assault and ask for a restraining order. In addition, divorce may be the only alternative. She needs to sit down with am attorney to discuss what are the best options legally and call a women's shelter for temporary housing . Not knowing where you live, you can help here by looking in the phone book for both.

Get her in touch with a local womans help group that will be able to help her. She will probably have to get a protective resraining order against him and probably go into hiding but its far better than th crapshe is putting up with. She also needs to file domestic violence charges against him if he touches her again in a bad way. Good luck

Got a phonebook? You should be able to find crisis numbers in the first pages in the front or in the Yellow Pages.

It's her problem and it's best if you stay out of it. Unless she's really stupid I think she should know how to use a phone book to get help, or she can always call the police.
