Felicity honey, just be yourself. I don't see anything wrong with you.
Now to answer your question, I actually prefer texting for short messages, and email for the long ones. Email always when I am covering several points. That way you can keep a documented history. Phone calls I save for people who understand me 100%.

Usually depends upon the circumstances. If I need to greet someone for a happy occasion or condole somebody, I use the phone. For business too, its phone usually. But I find email more convenient since we can say all that we want for a fraction of the cost of a phone call, especially if its an international call.

Through the phone. No need to wait for signal or load or a computer. The phone is a basic necessity in life - it is always there, part of your furniture, your appliances whatever while email...sometimes your internet connection does not function or is slow; with cell phones...too expensive.

The question is not very clear to me : I can't see clearly what or where the point of comparison is.
If it is between email versus phone calls, then it is easier via phone because it is more immediate and more personal. You can also resolve anything on the spot, faster than emailing each other.
If the point of comparison is "email or phone calls" versus something else, like face-to-face communication, then I would prefer talking. This is more immediate and more personal, with the opportunity for a warm handshake at the end of the converation.
Pardon the circuitous way I answered because I got confused with the way the question was structured.

Emails for me. Since I'm in the USA, it's kind of expensive to be calling to the Philippines. With the exception of special occassions, I do make phone calls. But for everyday hi/hello sort of thing, email works best.

I feel a phone call is a better connection. Because you can hear and feel the persons response. Its more personal!!An email is too fake!! I mean if i wanna talk to someone heart to heart id rather do it through verbal communications. Thats just me!!

I prefer emails and instant messages,
I'm a little hearing impaired and tend to avoid the phone, besides the phone costs money $$

No, I keep in touch with the closest of my friends through phone calls. Maintains that personal touch.

it depends...when my contact is outside the country, it's easier and more affordable to communicate through email coz you do not have to have long distance call which may cost you some bucks....but when she's just from the same city or nearby place, it's better to just call them and we can talk as long as we want without any additional payment.

Emails. This provides me a record of the conversations as well.
And if urgent and I see no email reply, I call or text, asking for an email reply.
