Hi, I want to call a friend of mine in the USA (Mississippi) from Canada (Vancouver). Do I need a calling card? (I'm going to use a pay phone.) And I just need to dial 1-662- (and her number) right? PLEASE answer this soon!!!

If you're calling from a pay phone then a calling card would be helpful. There might also be a way for you to have the call charged to your home phone number. Information about this should be in the front of any telephone book in Canada. If you can't find it, then dial "O" (operator) and ask for help.
